Our History
Inspired by leaders from across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and scientific communities, the Centre for Human Specific Research was established to address the challenges that hinder the advancement of human-specific research by companies and academic institutions.
The Centre was founded by Animal Free Research UK in 2024, a leading charity which has provided millions of pounds in funding for pioneering medical research and the development of human-focused technologies since its formation in 1970.
Powered by over 50 years of scientific expertise, the Centre for Human Specific Research provides tailored support to researchers working in the biomedical research and drug development space. Together, we are accelerating the delivery of safe and effective treatments for human diseases.
