About Concept Life Sciences

Concept Life Sciences is a UK-based drug discovery contract research organisation (CRO), supporting global pharma and biotech companies to accelerate their drug candidate to clinic by offering integrated drug discovery programs covering biology, chemistry, ADME/ DMPK, toxicology and GMP manufacturing.

The Spatial Biology team utilise a number of different techniques including immunohistochemistry and multiplex immunofluorescence staining to study how drugs interact and influence complex tissue environments.

Project Overview

A dedicated member of the Centre’s science team has been working with Concept Life Sciences to support each step of their Transition Project.

CONSULT. We worked with Concept Life Sciences to identify antibodies that are animal-derived or involve the use of animals in discovery and production.

ADVISE. We researched animal-free alternatives, discussed options with suppliers, and recommended suitable alternatives.

FUND. We provided funding for their validation project to test animal-free mimetics in an automated immunohistochemistry workflow.

PROMOTE. We intend to share the outcome of the validation project, highlighting scientific, economic, and ethical comparisons between their current antibodies and recommended mimetics.
